Bob is a New Bern Native who graduated from New Bern Senior High School, where he was Senior Class President, and he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served as his company’s Honor Representative for two years, and after graduating with a B.S. in Political Science, he became an Aviation officer in the United States Army. After 28 years, and at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Bob left the military and moved back home to New Bern. In 2022, he was elected as a City of New Bern Alderman, and in 2023 he was elected to serve as the Mayor Pro Tempe.
