Senator Chris Measmer was born and raised in Cabarrus County; his family’s lineage can be traced back to 1817 in Cabarrus County. He is a graduate of Central Cabarrus High School and continued his education at George Washington University, located in downtown Washington, DC, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2009.
During college, Chris had the opportunity to work on Capitol Hill with several members of the United States Congress, as well as contribute to various legislative projects. Those experiences gave him a firsthand knowledge of the legislative branch of our Federal Government. Also, while in college, Chris Measmer had the opportunity to expand his studies abroad in Greece and Italy. While living overseas, Chris gained the appreciation of what it means to be a proud American and all the freedoms that are enjoyed in this great Nation.
After graduating from college, Chris returned to Cabarrus County to help grow and operate the family business that opened when Chris was a small child. Senator Measmer grew up working in the family business and is now a second-generation business owner. As the current operator, Chris understands the pressures of payroll, the challenges of inflation and supply & demand, as well as the importance of good management skills.
